Gangs of Mafia (gangsofmafia.com) is a free, browser-based online game. This page explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Account details: the username and e-mail address you register with, and your password (stored only as a one-way hash — we cannot read it).
- Connection data: the IP addresses you play from and login times. We use them to protect accounts, stop cheating and multi-accounting, and limit abuse.
- Game data: your character, progress, in-game messages, chat and forum posts, and actions inside the game.
- Mobile notifications (optional): if you turn them on, your browser's push subscription so we can send in-game alerts. You can turn them off at any time.
Cookies
We use only the cookies the game needs to work: a session cookie that keeps you logged in, and a cookie that remembers your language. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not run third-party analytics.
How we use your data
- To run your account and the game.
- To keep the game fair and secure.
- To send messages you asked for, such as password resets and notifications.
We do not sell your data and do not share it with advertisers.
Third parties
The site is hosted by a hosting provider that stores our data on our behalf. Pages load fonts from Google Fonts, and push notifications pass through your browser vendor's push service (Google, Mozilla or Apple); these services can see your IP address when your browser contacts them.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account exists. Connection records are kept only as long as they are needed for security and fair play.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete your account and its data. Send a message to the game staff from inside the game, or message our official Facebook page. We will reply within a reasonable time.
Children
The game is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has registered, contact us and we will remove the account.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version.
